Weed Revolutionizes Solar Cells? Poke me!

by Nancy Mehegan

Researchers from Wake Forest University’s Center for Nanotechnology and an associated company FiberCell Inc. have developed a new solar cell and coating that they say has doubled the efficiency of solar cell technology.

The coating is the juice of the POKEBERRY.  Apparently it absorbs sunlight very well.  A common weed holding a secret like this....  These new solar cells use hundreds of minuscule plastic threads that trap sunlight from many angles.  (that's new too)
